The link between VASS and RISS has seen the development of an exciting and extremely valuable work placement program. Coaches from Arsenal Soccer Schools UK attend the school and work to a specially designed timetable that both enriches our curriculum and develops their own learning. The coaches are mentored at every step to produce an evidence based portfolio of achievement. This experience includes training that covers teaching English as an additional language, learning support and the preperation and planning of classes. In return, the students at RISS have gained new friends, received excellent soccer coaching and found extra enthusiasm from working with our dedicated coaches. In particular, it has been very pleasing to see the coaches learn more than just soccer training, and deliver support to many students in many different ways. We are very happy at the progress of this program and hope to see it go from strength to strength in the future.
